With the iPhone 16 lineup this year, Apple is bringing about changes to the charging speeds. Notably, there’s a significant boost in the fast charging speed for MagSafe charging. Here’s all you need to know about the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro charging speeds…
iPhone 16 Charging Speeds
The charging speeds for the iPhone 16 lineup are consistent across the entire lineup this year, encompassing the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
- MagSafe wireless charging up to 25W with a 30W adapter or higher
- Qi2 wireless charging up to 15W
- Qi wireless charging up to 7.5W
- Wired charging: achieving a charge of up to 50% within approximately 30 minutes
- With a 20W adapter or higher paired with a USB-C charging cable
- Or, a 30W adapter or higher paired with the MagSafe Charger
However, the fastest MagSafe charging speeds are reserved for Apple’s newest MagSafe charger. If you have a MagSafe charger purchased prior to the iPhone 16 event, you’ll only get 15W charging speeds.
For the time being, the only MagSafe charger with 25W support is the one sold by Apple itself:
- MagSafe Charger (1 meter) – $39
- MagSafe Charger (2 meters) – $49
Moreover, over time, third-party accessories will adopt Apple’s new MagSafe charger with the faster 25W charging speeds.
